Bulloch County and Statesboro are home to nearly 60,000 residents.  Located about an hour's drive west of Savannah, Statesboro offers many cultural, recreational and economic opportunities while still maintaining the charm of country living.

Statesboro is easily accessible via Interstate 16 and U.S. Highways 301, 80, and 25.  The area is also served by the Statesboro Regional Airport, Savannah International Airport, and the Port of Savannah.  We are 55 miles from Savannah, 122 miles from Macon, 78 miles from Augusta, and 194 from Atlanta.  Statesboro boasts three industrial parks, a Briggs & Stratton plant, and a Wal-Mart distribution center.  The fertile countryside produces cotton, tobacco, Vidalia onions, soybeans, and timber.

Statesboro is also home to Georgia Southern University which has won six Division 1-A Championships in football.  The University was founded in 1906 as Georgia Teachers College and is now a comprehensive university with over 16,000 students.  Georgia Southern has a College of Information Technology and a College of Business Administration.  It is also home to the Georgia Southern Museum, the Raptor Center, and the Botanical Gardens.

The region offers wonderful cultural and recreational amenities.  There is a symphony orchestra, the Averitt Center for the Performing Arts the Performing Arts Center on the Georgia Southern Campus, and Splash in the Boro, a new water park operated by the County Recreational Department.
